books are breath

A life without books is a very hollow existence indeed. Nothing else has the power to make me laugh out loud, cry like a baby, or scream in rage like reading a book can. I am open to all genres and am willing to give almost anything a try, even if it's outside my normal scope. My faves are thrillers/suspense but I am also into paranormal, drama, chick lit and YA. This is my first blog, so forgive my ignorance and if you see something I can improve, do tell. :)

Love her authenticity

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy - Helen Fielding

Bridget is so real that sometimes I get wrapped up in this book and feel like she's one of my friends texting me all her issues. The only thing that sometimes trips me up is the "Brit Speak" where I have to try and figure out what the British words she uses mean. I know stuff like "nappy" is a diaper but others have been slightly obscure. Anyway, I am shelving Bridget on my Nook for now, just to dive into the new Laurie Halse Anderson. Actual review of Bridget's adventures coming soon.......
