books are breath

A life without books is a very hollow existence indeed. Nothing else has the power to make me laugh out loud, cry like a baby, or scream in rage like reading a book can. I am open to all genres and am willing to give almost anything a try, even if it's outside my normal scope. My faves are thrillers/suspense but I am also into paranormal, drama, chick lit and YA. This is my first blog, so forgive my ignorance and if you see something I can improve, do tell. :)

Fangirl

Fangirl - Rainbow Rowell this is not a typical YA book. Cath is not an airheaded, boy crazy college freshman. She's a real girl with real insecurities and issues that everyone can relate to. I didn't even know what Fanfiction was until I read this book. Cath retreats to the world of Simon Snow (a Harry Potter-ish series of books) when her Bipolar dad, her out-of-control identical twin, and her absent mother become too much to deal with. The book is compulsively readable. I wish it would be the first in a series, that's how much I came to like these characters. READ IT, YOU'LL LIKE IT.
